Sick buffalo

This is almost an urban myth.

Guys have been told stories of how the girlfriend’s family is struggling in the farming community.
How they make ends meet is genuinely not easy. However, sometimes it involves exaggerating the story somewhat.

Things like how the buffalo is sick and can’t be used to pull the plough.

So someone has to be volunteered to assist financially in getting the buffalo well again. Like a visit from the vet for some medicine perhaps.

Over the years, endless blokes have stumped up money for a sick buffalo or perhaps a brother fell down the well, someone else had dengue fever.
